Installing Nova Presenter Pro.
Five steps to a working setup, and one optional dependency if you present PowerPoint. Nova runs on 4GB of RAM, though 8GB is more comfortable.
Installing and setting up Nova needs an internet connection. The installer is downloaded online, the Bible library is fetched on first launch, and activating your licence checks in with our servers. Once set up, running a service does not need the internet — everything is on your computer.
Step by step
Download and run the installer
Pick your platform from the download page. Windows and macOS both ship a signed installer — run it and accept the defaults. Nothing else needs configuring.
Allow screen and projection permissions
On first launch Nova asks for screen recording and display access. It needs these to drive the projector or second screen. On macOS you may need to restart Nova after granting them.
Let the first launch finish — this one takes a while
To keep the installer small, Nova downloads its Bible library the first time you open it, then unpacks it and imports it into its own database. Expect several minutes on a normal connection, and longer on a slow one. Leave it alone until it finishes — it is not frozen. KJV and NKJV work straight away, so you can look around while the rest arrive. It only happens once, and an interrupted download picks up where it left off rather than starting over.
Sign in, then activate this computer
Signing in is not the last step. Activating the computer is what binds your licence to that machine — and it is what releases your free AI voice minutes. Until you activate, the balance stays at zero.
Install LibreOffice, if you use PowerPoint
Only needed for .ppt and .pptx files. Bible, songs, media and notes all work without it. Details below.
PowerPoint support needs LibreOffice
Nova converts .ppt and .pptx files using LibreOffice, a free open-source office suite. We cannot bundle it — its licence and size make that impractical — so it is a separate one-time install.

Drag LibreOffice into Applications

Open it once so macOS trusts it, then restart Nova

You do not need to open LibreOffice or configure anything. Nova finds it automatically and will pick it up on its own if you install it later — no restart required in most cases.
